Who is Hennepin Home Health Care?
Hennepin Home Health Care (HHHC) has been in business since 1974, providing home
care services. We have been providing sick childcare services since 1998 to
parents when their children are ill or unable to go to daycare. The company is
licensed and bonded.
Why is Sick Childcare Program needed?
Children seem to choose the most inconvenient of times to
decide to throw up or have a temperature. This program allows you, as a parent,
to be at work while your child is comfortable in his or her own home with a
qualified, experienced Sick Childcare Aide (SCA).
How does this program work?
As soon as you know that your
child is sick and unable to go to daycare, call HHHC and we will send out a SCA.
HHHC expects that you will be calling last minute and we are prepared to handle
this. There is also a Registered Nurse on staff for any medical questions. The
program is designed for infants through adolescents.
Service hours are available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
There is a 4-hour minimum. You can call the on-call staffing coordinator after
hours from 4:30 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. at 612-968-4241 or during office hours,
Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 763-425-5959.
*Medications can be administered with parent direction.
Asthma related medications require an employee with specialized training.
What will be the cost?
The cost is $23.00 an hour for the first child and $5.00 an hour for each
additional child. You have up to 30 days to pay the bill. We
currently contract with: Cargill, 3M, General Mills, Medtronic,
and Park Nicollet to name a
few. If you work for any of these companies, they reimburse some or all of the
cost. If not, talk with your company to see if they would be interested in a
contract with HHHC. Many companies will reimburse you directly for services,
just contact your human resource representative.
Are there any additional fees?
There are two possible fees. If you set up services and
then cancel after setting up the services, there will be a $60.00 cancellation
fee. A port-to-port fee of $40.00 may be charged if the SCA will be traveling
a substantial distance to your home.
What are the qualifications of the SCA?
They are 1st aide and CPR trained. They have professional childcare
experience in a center or home setting. The SCA has to pass an extensive hiring
procedure of interviewing, testing, orientating, reference checking, and
criminal background checking.
Will they travel to my home, even if I don’t
live in Hennepin County?
Our company is willing to provide services to anyone in
Ramsey, Anoka, Hennepin, and Washington Counties. We may also be able to
accommodate other locations outside of these areas; you just need to call.
